Cosplayer Alexandra Keuls as Baby Bonnie Hood! Beware! Lady with a gun!

Cosplayer Alexandra Keuls was recently featured in ABS-CBN's Matanglawin as Baby Bonnie Hood together with other cosplayers and Alodia Gosiengfiao. She got my attention among the other cosplayers because of her costume! I really like her red hood!

Cosplayer Alexandra Keuls as Rena Ryuuga from Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, scary little child!
Cosplayer Alexandra Keuls as Rena Ryuuga from Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, scary little child!

1. Can you introduce yourself to your fans (Name, Location and your Age)?

Hi! My name is Alexandra Keuls. I'm 20 years of age, and I live in Manila, Philippines. I've loved anime and video games for as long as I can remember. :D

2. On your own words, what is cosplay/cosyplaying? What inspires you to do cosplay and when did you start cosplaying?

Cosplay is all about getting into character and dressing up just like them! It's almost like pretending to BE them for the day. My friends inspired me to cosplay, it looked like alot of fun and I decided to give it a shot. I started cosplay in 2009.

3. Can you enumerate all of the cosplay acts that you have done? As for you, what's your best cosplay act on your entire career?

Not that I have performed on stage but, I've gone to conventions as Misty from Pokemon, Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket, Reimu from Touhou, Ty Lee from Avatar, The Last Airbender, Baby Bonnie Hood from Darkstalkers and Rena Ryuuga from Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni. The most fun I had with was Baby Bonnie Hood, she's my favorite character to use when I play Darkstalkers. :)

Cosplayer Monique Dimanlig: A Unique Geisha, Cosplay and Anime Geek

Cosplayer Monique Dimanlig: Art at the Shang
Cosplayer Monique Dimanlig: Art at the Shang

Cosplayer Monique Dimanlig already cosplayed unique characters like Geiko/Maiko, Fujitsubo-hime and Yukari no Onna. But the one that really caught my eyes was when she cosplayed Sorceress Edea. It's like wow! A big WOW! I've never seen so detailed cosplay of a Final Fantasy villain. Some cosplay are just plain school girl or not that detailed and uncharacteristic. Cosplaying a Sorceress from once rewarded "Game of the Year" is so cool. FYI, Cosplayer Monique Dimanlig was already featured here. This is her second time around here at Cosplayer Studio.

1. What are your current cosplay gigs and what are you gonna cosplay?

I don’t really have any “gigs” to speak of… I just attend what I can. I will most likely continue my geiko cosplay, with new kimono.

2. What are your previous cosplayed characters?

I’ve cosplayed Geiko/Maiko, Fujitsubo-hime, Yukari no Onna, and Sorceress Edea.

3. Full name, Birth date, Location?

Monique Dimanlig

Sept. 30

Pasig City

4. Have you joined any cosplay contest? event? What are those?

I’ve joined several over the span of two years… I try to mount the walk when I can—but not often, because of the rules restricting non-canon characters.

5. Are you having cosplay partners or friends that are always with you whenever you cosplay?

I don’t have regular partners. I run into all sorts of people in the convention, some more than others, so I hang out with them and we all enjoy ourselves.

6. Were you featured before on TV, Magazine, etc? or endorsed product and service?

Yes, I was in Full Time Moms’ cosplay segment, PO5, the TV5 grand relaunch. And I was also featured in Otacool 2, CosplayGen Magazine’s second issue and Code Red Magazine. I also appeared (just a photo) in Game! Magazine.

I'm now a certified fan of Monique Dimanlig and I regularly check her pages, continue supporting her updates! :D

Cosplay is not just an ordinary thing to do. Someone call it weird but it's a special fashion statement. As of the moment, a lot of Filipino fans that includes this generation consider cosplay as an alternative to bring themselves up on the public behind the costumes that they're portraying. For this day, we will be featuring one of the Filipina cosplayers that really catched my attention as a cosplay enthusiast and her name is MJ Angeles.

We plotted some templated questions for the cosplayers to answer all of that and here's our question and answer portion with MJ Angeles

1. Introduce yourself to the readers by stating your Full name, your birthday and your location.

Name: Mary Jane l. Angeles

Birthday: Nov. 9 ,1992

4. Do you have any experience of joining a cosplay contest? If yes, what are those cosplay events that you have joined?

"Yeah. it will be a century if I mention it one by one but I always attend ozine, otaku expo. etc."

5. Of course, it's time for promoting yourself up by giving your Facebook, Twitter and other social networking sites that you have right now.

"I don't have Fan Page and I'm not using my Twitter and Plurk often."

As I end this blog post, I just want to acknowledge our featured cosplayer MJ Angeles for answering all of the question and really like the fact that she answered all of the questions. I guess it will be a matter of time that this doll will make it to the limelight and Cosplayer Studio will be here at your back to support you.

Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao featured in Music Video of DJ Myke's Single Huling Araw (Last Day)

Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao smiling beautifully :)

I've been looking on my news feed in Facebook and found a nice share that came from CSCentral fan page. It's the music video of DJ Myke's single Huling Araw (Last Day) featuring Alodia Gosiengfiao. I thought she was Katrina Halili on her look on that music video (peace Alodia) and stuck by 10 seconds. The concept of the video was ordinary and already saw that concept on some popular artists but frankly speaking, what's up with the voice doug! I really like the whole lyrics, the music arrangement and most especially Alodia Gosiengfiao as an artist of the music video. I was kinda worried that she can't surpass that but from start to finish, she was that good. That inspires me to do an original composition again.

For DJ Myke, you have a nice voice and really on the track. I'm looking for more exposure on this artist because of the voice quality. Well paging Party Pilipinas, ASAP and PO5, you need to consider this artist on your line up of singers. For Alodia, I'm really looking for more music videos this 2011 and I hope you consider some Jazz or Soul artist, sitting on a piano and making the most out of it.

My, my, my... Alodia Gosiengfiao on her Yukata outfit. One word to say on this one, "Lovely". As you all know, she recently attended a Cosplay Summit that was held in Ateneo and really she's that lovely on that event.

I can't take my eyes on her with those outfit. Well we all know that Alodia Gosiengfiao considered as one of the gorgeous babe lined-up on the cosplay field but on that note I guess on the record, one of the best so far. She looks like one of those Japanese girls I know when I was at Chino City and I remember Nozomi Sazaki on her but I will take it on the Pinay side. She's so accommodating as ever, knowing that she's a star right now and that's what I love about Alodia. She didn't take a lot of big things on her head and I hope she will not change on that kind of attitude.

Cosplayers, cosplay enthusiast and gamers are all welcome to interact with us so watch out for that. For the meantime, spread Cosplayer Studio Blog to your friends.

I don't have much information about the Toyota event that Alodia mentioned on her Facebook fan page

But still I will just blog it because it's considered as one of the biggest event and of course my favorite cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao was on the Toyota's Thanksgiving Media Party as the host of that event. If you're not contented on the presence of Alodia, the band Yes Ma'am have this exposure on the said event, which is an all-girl band that Ashley Gosiengfiao (little sister of Alodia), is one of the member of that band as the Lead guitarist/2nd Vocals.

Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao and a model

Wow! Another big company on her sleeve. I guess a matter of days, week, month and years that Alodia may be consider as one of the in-demand stars of the big companies here in the Philippines. Still Cosplayer studio will be here to support no matter what.

Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao as a host at the recent Microsoft's Who Dunn It Event
Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao as sexy as ever as The Baroness III while hosting the event

Alodia striked a hosting job again! On the recent Whodunnit.com, which is featured by Microsoft Philippines for the developers and IT experts, they considered Alodia Gosiengfiao to be the front act on the said event. What a lucky doll! I've read some of her post about the said event and really laugh on this status:

On our way home.. Gosh, being The Baroness is quite hard, they intercepted my guns when we were heading towards the Microsoft event I was hosting... Yes, I look like terrorist... Heels, shiny leather, sparkly cobras, here to terrorize the area! LOL

Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao with her newly improved cobra! Yaiks!
Cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao with her newly improved cobra! Yaiks!

Well I will just say to that post, "If you will be the terrorist, I will propose to be your slave for life!"

I guess the popularity of Alodia Gosiengfiao was on the run right now consider a major endorsement like Microsoft which is one of the influencial company not only in the Philippines but worldwidely considerable as one of the biggest company to deal with. I'm also curious on the concept of Whodunnit.com projecting a concept like Cosplay. Is it the logo of their event? I guess I need to go on research on that one and will update this post if I can have some information about that. The next question will be, what will be the next endorsement of Alodia? Or do you have any idea or guess?

Philippine Cosplay Fever gives another "First" here in the Philippines - MeiDolls Café

The very first MeiDolls Café in Philippines! Kudos to Philippine Cosplay influence!
The very first MeiDolls Café in Philippines! Kudos to Philippine Cosplay influence!

New service is on the metro and it's not the usual cafe that you will see that may compare to Starbucks or Seattle's Best. MeiDolls Cafe, the first 'Tokyo Maid' cafe here in the Philippines that the crew there are into cosplay concept. Of course consider the fact that they're all alluring (yeah that's the right word), I can say that the "Art of Cosplay" here are growing and also a strategy to catch our attention to go there and see for ourselves on what to expect on that shop. I'm planning to make a visit, well with my blogger friends but I want to go on Wenesdays. Ask me why? (Why???) Because they're on their school girl costume. :)

First saw them in Multiply, a social networking site and they really got my interest on the planning stage, cosplay concept and products on their menu. Another source told me that they have an appearance on the XMAS Bazaar Fair which they feature their pastries. Based on the ratings of my blogger friends, it's really delicious and the price is very worth it. (Ehem MeiDolls Cafe).

MeiDolls Café in Philippines is now here! Lots of Cosplayers are serving the guests!
MeiDolls Café in Philippines is now here! Lots of Cosplayers are serving the guests!

On their official fan page "MeiDolls Cafe", they created an event just to invite all of the fans to witness an interview with Reuters TV. I wonder if Alodia Gosiengfiao, the cosplay queen, already visited the place? :D
